JEAN HARLOW / IRON MAN (1931)

Sold

Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.) single weight glossy sepia-tinted silver gelatin print still photo, USA. Lew Ayres, Robert Armstrong, Jean Harlow, John Miljan, dir: Tod Browning; Universal. The film, directed by the legendary Tod Browning, was about a young lightweight boxer (Ayres) whose gold digging wife leaves him for Hollywood once he fails. When he becomes successful she is back and, along with her lover, makes plans to take his money. The fact that Jean Harlow played a tramp was telegraphed loud and clear throughout the W. R. Burnett story. Very rarely is this film shown. This full length image (still no. 12) of the iconic blonde bombshell exudes her sexiness and elegance as she poses in a satin gown on a photography set which today can be described as Art Deco. NEAR FINE.
