MARLON BRANDO ICONIC MOTORCYLE PORTRAIT FOR THE WILD ONE (1953)

Sold

Vintage original 10 x 8” (25 x 20 cm.) black and white single weight glossy silver gelatin print still photo, USA. Marlon Brando, Mary Murphy, Robert Keith, Lee Marvin, dir: Laslo Benedek; Columbia Pictures. Marlon Brando playing motorcycle gang leader Johnny Strabler cast the mold for 1950s male rebels in this saga which caused quite a bit of controversy at the time. At 29 Brando was a bit mature for a role which he had reservations about and did only out of respect for producer Stanley Kramer. However, his characterization as depicted in this wonderful portrait coded 8080-33 is an icon of film history. Columbia Pictures copyright information along bottom margin. Chip at top left corner. Pencil notations on verso. NEAR FINE.
