Vintage original 10 x 8” (25 x 20 cm.) black and white single weight glossy silver gelatin print still photos, USA. Fred Astaire, Joan Fontaine, George Burns and Gracie Allen, dir: George Stevens; RKO. Director George Stevens, with his early back ground in cinematography and directing of shorts made his mark as a top director of every genre. His earlier features included musicals at RKO. P. G. Wodehouse wrote the screenplay and George and Ira Gershwin composed one of their last scores together for this film, but the highlight was the avant-garde musical Fun House number performed by Fred Astaire, George Burns and Gracie Allen. Fred Astaire and Hermes Pan choreographed. This unusual image of Fred Astaire was photographed by John Miehle. His photography stamp as well as the RKO logo is stamped on the verso as is the Advertising Advisory Council stamp. The original paper publicity blurb is also present at the bottom of the verso.
