The film opens with a prologue in which author Mary Shelley (portrayed by Elsa Lanchester, who also appears as the monster’s bride) reveals that the characters of her original story survived, giving Dr. Frankenstein a reason to create a mate for him. Thus the premise for a sequel to the very popular FRANKENSTEIN (1931). Perhaps the finest of the Frankenstein films, in still 729-164 we see Boris Karloff as the Monster frightening school children in the village forest. ABOUT FINE.
