HOME TOWN STORY (1951) Marilyn Monroe

Sold

Vintage original 10 x 8” (25 x 20 cm.) black and white single weight glossy silver gelatin print still photo, USA. Social criticism and politics are themes in this small budget MGM feature, which has the Dore Schary stamp all over it— he taking MGM in another direction in the early 1950s. Marilyn Monroe, before her stardom, was on hand at MGM for a few films. For this and some of her other early work, she was required to furnish her own wardrobe. Here she is as a slightly sultry, yet demure sweater girl. The still is coded HTS-111. Very minor creases at the corners. ABOUT FINE.
