Ingmar Bergman’s NATTVARDSGÄSTERNA [WINTER LIGHT] (1963) Set of 15 photos

Sold

Set of fifteen (15) vintage original double weight 9 ¼ x 11 ¾” (24 x 31 cm.) photos, Netherlands. Ingrid Thulin, Gunnar Bjornstrand, Gunnel Lindblom, Max von Sydow, dir: Ingmar Bergman; DLS-Film.

The second film in Bergman’s trilogy, about which he commented: “These three films deal with reduction. Through a Glass Darkly — conquered certainty. Winter Light — penetrated certainty. The Silence — God’s silence — the negative imprint. Therefore, they constitute a trilogy.” The movie shows the pastor (Bjornstrand) of a small rural Swedish church as he tries to navigate through a crisis of faith.

The photos have various marginal pinholes, a few have marginal mends with archival paper on verso, each photo has an embossed censor blindstamp in the upper right (which you can only see if you hold the photo up to the light at just the right angle), overall VERY GOOD. All the photos have on back the stamp of DLS-Film, the movie’s original Dutch distributor.
