SEA BAT, THE (1930)

Vintage original 11 x 14 (28 x 35 cm.) title lobby card, USA. Raquel Torres, Charles Bickford, Nils Asther, George F. Marion, Boris Karloff, dir: Lionel Barrymore, Wesley Ruggles (both Uncredited): Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. A steamy romance filmed partially on location in Mexico by Wesley Ruggles and finished on the MGM sound stages by Lionel Barrymore. It was more about the spectacle of a film shot on location than anything else. Talented writers John Howard Lawson, Bess Meredyth and Dorothy Yost came up with the sin and salvation scenario. Barrymore did not wish his name associated with the film. The publicity campaign went all out with its’ deco period font, illustration and pre-code imagery. Minor soiling to blank white margin only.
