Vintage original 42 x 57″ (108 x 146 cm.) poster, France. Alice Tissot, Renée Carl, Christiane Mandelys, Maurice Vinot, dir: Louis Feuillade; Société des Etablissements L. Gaumont. Beautiful poster from the French Art Nouveau period. So rare is this style of art in film posters as this was the infancy of the motion picture.

This was an episodic film, with sequences representing different times of the day. Morning, noon and eve art the three tableaus represented on this poster. Louis Feuillade was perhaps the most prolific film director of all time, with more than 700 titles to his credit. In 1907 he was appointed artistic director of film studio Gaumont. He is definitely one of the fathers of the art and technique of motion pictures, and famous for his great crime serials Judex and Les vampires.

On linen, there is some very minor staining at extreme top edge, NEAR FINE.
