Hollywood: Warner Brothers, 1937. Vintage original 12 x 8” (30 x 20 cm.) midget window card. Wonderful rich colors, slight trim to upper blank margin, a couple of marginal tears reinforced with archival paper, near fine.
Tale of “hostesses” told with as much candor as post-Pro- duction Code Hollywood allowed. Classic crime film which marked Bette Davis’ return toWarner Brothers, here teamed with Humphrey Bogart, after she walked out on the studio, fed up with the weak roles they were giving her. Here she plays Mary Dwight, the world-weary hostess of a club run by gangsters.
