Fayard (1914-2006) and Harold (1921-2000) Nicholas were a famous African American team of dancing brothers. With their highly acrobatic technique, high level of artistry and daring innovations, they were considered by many the greatest tap dancers of their day. Growing up surrounded by vaudeville acts as children and without any formal training, they became stars of the jazz circuit during the Harlem Renaissance and performed on stage, film and television well into the 2000s. (Wikipedia)

Highlights of the group include professional photos of the brothers as children and as teens, in live performance on stage in the 1940s and performing in films The Big Broadcast of 1936, Down Argentine Way and Stormy Weather. Professional, agency, candid and studio images are included.
