Shirley Borchardt, 1978. Set of three vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm) double weight black-and-white photos. Two have stamps on verso of photographer Shirley Borchardt, the third has her MS copyright. A bit of waviness, near fine.

Andy Kaufman’s career began to soar after his first appearance on Saturday Night Live in 1975. These photos document one of his stage show appearances, most likely a 1977 show at Carnegie Hall. Note his “I LOVE GRANDMA” sweatshirt — at the end of the show his so-called grandma, who was sitting at the side of the stage, turned out to be Robin Williams.
