JEAN HARLOW (1931)

Sold

Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.) double weight glossy sepia-tinted silver gelatin print still photo, USA. Before awarded her MGM contract in 1932, Jean Harlow bounced from studio to studio, loaned out by mentor Howard Hughes. She worked for five different studios in 1931, and, though this still has the typed line on the back “Jean Harlow, Universal Star,” she was at the studio for just one film, IRON MAN. Pre-Code images of Harlow are highly desirable, and pre-MGM portraits are very rare. Here, Harlow with her marcelled platinum blonde hair strikes a sexy, but elegant pose wearing a black satin dress. This is still number 23. FINE.
