MARILYN MONROE (1962) Returns from Mexcio

Sold

Vintage original 10 x 8″
(25 x 20 cm.) black-and-white single weight glossy silver gelatin print still photo, USA. A UPI telephoto which shows the popular star during her last months coming off a plane in Los Angeles after having vacationed in Mexico. The original typed blurb along the right border of the image makes a point that, though she is a big movie star, there is no male friend awaiting her.

Monroe vacationed in Mexico during Feb. 1962 and returned to Los Angeles Mar. 2, 1962, as indicated in the date on this photo. Monroe traveled with her press agent Pat Newcomb. Monroe had recently bought her first house and acquired many of its furnishings while on this tour.

The photo is lightly ink stamped on the verso with the United Press International Photo stamp. There are two light creases near the bottom right corner, a harder crease at the very edge of the bottom right corner and a light crease at the top left corner, VERY GOOD-FINE.
