Vintage original 14 x 17” (35 x 43 cm.) jumbo lobby card, USA. Harry Langdon, Priscilla Bonner, Gertrude Astor, dir: Frank Capra; First National. Langdon plays a Belgian soldier during World War I, who becomes infatuated with an American girl with whom he is pen pals. He comes to America and becomes an assistant to a theatrical strong man as he searches for her. As he is just about to meet her, the strongman takes ill and Harry must go on in his place. Director Frank Capra learned his craft during the silent era when he worked with the brilliant clown— pantomime, slapstick and comic artist, Harry Langdon. In this card with Harry is Arthur Thalasso who plays strong man Zandow the Great.
