Barbara Stanwyck, Henry Fonda, Charles Coburn, William Demarest, Eugene Pallette, Eric Blore, dir: Preston Sturges; Paramount. One of the top comedies of the 1940s. In the story, Stanwyck, a card shark, and Fonda, an anthropologist, meet on board a luxury liner and fall in love while she and her cohorts are robbing him. He finds out and rejects her. Tracking him down, she makes a play for him, impersonating an English noble lady.

In this portrait, Stanwyck (as the sophisticated lady Eve) seduces Fonda. Really lovely pose features the Hollywood Advertising Advisory Council approval stamp and is dated Nov. 26, 1940. Crease to emulsion near the bottom right corner, minor crease at bottom left corner. Super glossy print is coded 1283/76, NEAR FINE.
