Cornell Woolrich (source) Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.) photo, USA. Dir: Robert Siodmak; Universal. PHANTOM LADY is now acknowledged as one of the classics of low-budget 1940s film noir. It was adapted from the novel of the same name by William Irish (pseudonym for Cornell Woolrich).  This rare photo is of the dust jacket of the Tower reader’s edition, which had the same jacket art (but with different coloring) as the original first edition by Lippincott, and it was printed as part of the promotional campaign for the movie by Universal.
