Bela Lugosi, Sidney Fox, Leon Ames, Noble Johnson, Arlene Francis, dir: Robert Florey; Universal. Directory Robert Florey wrote an adaptation of the Edgar Allan Poe story. Set in 19th Century Paris, it is the story of Dr. Marakle, who abducts women to inject them with ape blood to prove and ape-man kinship. He fails and the women die. Here he is about to lure leading lady Sidney Fox into his trap as her fiancé (Leon Ames) is amused. So violent was the 80 minute film that is was eventually released at 61 minutes, failing at the box office. Joe Bonomo plays the Gorilla. Photo is coded 3151-8.
