Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.) single weight glossy black-and-white silver gelatin print still photo, USA. Ruby Keeler, James Cagney, Joan Blondell, Dick Powell, dir: Lloyd Bacon, Busby Berkeley; Warner Bros. Brilliant still depicts fight between James Cagney and sailor which is part of the elaborate “Shanghai Lil” production number. At this time, Busby Berkeley mixed races and ethnicities in his production numbers fairly often, something which no other filmmaker of the time ventured to do, thus giving the production numbers true authenticity.

That is evident in still FP 176. There is typed information about the film and credits on the verso as the still was utilized in a research business at one time. There is minor handling to corners and edges, NEAR FINE.
