FAITHLESS (1932) Lobby card

Sold

Vintage original 11 x 14″ (28 x 35 cm.) lobby card, USA. Tallulah Bankhead, Robert Montgomery, Hugh Hubert, dir: Harry Beaumont; MGM. There is a bend at the upper left corner, a chip at the lower right corner, a tiny tear on the blank white border at the upper right and a neatly mended 1″ (2.5 cm.) tear starting at the blank white margin and into the black of the star credit box, none of this is very serious and the card looks really nice, very good.

After a brief stint in silent films, the theatre world was charmed by the voice and manner of Tallulah Bankhead; a return to film with talkies, however, did not bring her any further success. She starred in several soap opera melodramas, this one for MGM, plush with Deco furnishings and Adrian costumes. Neither MGM, nor her character Carol Morgan, seemed to be aware there was a depression on as she romped from man to man in this Pre-Code melodrama.

Today, FAITHLESS is a camp classic — and this rare card represents the playgirl before her walk down the primrose path. Beautiful color highlights this card featuring Hugh Herbert, Tallulah and Robert Montgomery.
