ART TATUM TRIO (ca. early-1950s) Flyer
New York: Gale Agency, [ca. early-1950s]. Vintage original 11 x 8.5″ (28 x 22 cm.) flyer, a few marginal tears unobtrusively mended with archival paper on verso, near fine.
An extremely scarce document of the career of legendary jazz pianist Art Tatum, who extended the vocabulary and boundaries of jazz piano far beyond his initial stride influences, and established new ground in jazz through innovative use of reharmonization, voicing and bitonality. He was working in the early-1950s in a trio with Slam Stewart and Everett Barksdale.
