A name is written at top of title page of a James D. Pasternak, who is not a credited crew member. The screenplay by Thomas C. Ryan is dated 8/26/63. Internally near fine, a few pages show very slight marginal handling, wrappers very good.

A very early draft for this classic 1968 film, adapted from Carson McCullers’ 1940 debut novel. As with the underlying book, this is a film about alienation, racism and misery in a small Southern town. Star Alan Arkin and supporting actress Sondra Locke received Oscar nominations.
