[Los Angeles]: Paramount Pictures, [1931]. Vintage original 8 x 11″ (20 x 28 cm.) black-and-white double weight glossy silver gelatin keybook photo. Printed blurb attached to verso, fine.

Leaving Hollywood in 1928, Anna May Wong found great success in Europe and was invited back to Hollywood in 1930 with a promise of great roles at Paramount. Her first big film would be her last to play the stereotypical villainous Asian — that of the vengeful daughter of Fu Manchu in Daughter of the Dragon. She would appear opposite America’s leading Asian male actor Sessue Hayakawa. The text of the original blurb describes her as an “Oriental Princess”.
