BARBARA STANWYCK | LADIES THEY TALK ABOUT (1933) Photo

$250.00

[Los Angeles]: Warner Brothers, [1933]. Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.) black-and-white glossy silver gelatin photo. Some tape staining on verso, about fine.

One of Barbara Stanwyck’s pre-Code classics, here in prison garb with Robert Warwick in the prison warden’s office. From a play written by and based on the prison experiences of Dorothy MacKaye. Stanwyck plays a woman of loose morality mixed-up with a gang of criminals. She goes to prison but plans an escape. A year later, characters who broke all the rules were not acceptable and Stanwyck’s roles became much softer.

Photo coded LN-55 and has copyright and title at bottom white margin.
