CAROLE LOMBARD WEARS DIAMOND CLIPS (1933) Studio publicity portrait
Sold
[Los Angeles: Paramount Pictures, 1933]. Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.) black-and-white single weight glossy silver gelatin photo. There is a corner tear at bottom left and some creasing to the bottom blank white margin. About fine.
A striking portrait of the grand blonde star of the 1930s. This portrait was taken at the height of her fame while under contract to Paramount. Carole had just appeared in her one film with future husband Clark Gable, No Man of Her Own. Carole is dressed in velvet and wears what are most likely real diamond clips as accents. Epitome of classic era Hollywood portraiture.
