DOLORES DEL RÍO | FLYING DOWN TO RIO (1933) Costume portrait
Sold
[Los Angeles: RKO Radio Pictures, 1933]. Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.) black-and-white glossy silver gelatin photo. Minor curling and aging, tape remnants top and bottom of verso. Very good+.
Dolores del Río poses for this publicity portrait in a gown most likely designed by Walter Plunkett. The musical was conceived as a star vehicle for Dolores, but it became a huge hit because of the introduction of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.
