Jack Smith (director) NORMAL LOVE (1964) Photo by Bob Adler

[New York], 1964. Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.) black-and-white print still photo. Date stamped on verso, along with two clippings about the film adhered to back. With holograph inscription at blank bottom white margin in the hand of photographer Bob Adler. Near fine.

Normal Love is an experimental film by legendary queer filmmaker Jack Smith, his first venture into color film. The film was never completed during his lifetime, but there were a number of screenings of it between 1963 and 1965 as a work-in-progress. This photo shows Francis Francine as “Guildid Hag” and David Sachs as “The Mongol”.
