Famously, while the film was in post-production, Cassavetes was giving a Thanksgiving dinner at which Kramer was one of his guests. When his editor called to alert him that Kramer had just started a re-edit of the film, Cassavetes punched Kramer — and was blackballed by Hollywood for a number of years after.
