Lana Turner is viewed from two angles wearing her couture dress suit, matching bag, hat and handkerchief designed by Adrian to publicize her noteworthy appearance in the musical extravaganza Ziegfeld Girl. Though set in 1920, the day wear made for the film’s stars was definitely 1940s. So popular was Adrian for designing day wear such as this that he soon after stopped designing for movies and opened a couture shop where anyone could have a suit designed and made by Adrian. Stars like Turner flocked to his studio to have their everyday wardrobe made.
