MARILYN MONROE | LOVE HAPPY (1949) Photo

$450.00

[Los Angeles: United Artists, 1949) Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.) black-and-white glossy silver gelatin photo. Minor wear at bottom right corner. Near fine.

A famous early appearance of Marilyn Monroe. Filmed in 1948, Monroe made a few small film appearances as well as played the lead in Ladies of the Chorus that year. The film’s credits include “Introducing Marilyn Monroe”. It was the last so-called Marx Brothers film featuring Groucho, Chico and Harpo. They did not appear in any scenes together, and Groucho so detested it that he left it out of his own film credits. It was he,  however, who was responsible for choosing Monroe as the girl who attempts to seduce his character.

With Monroe and Groucho Marx is Otto Waldis. Photo has 1948 copyright date and is coded LH-128.
