Though cast as second banana to both Yves Montand and Marilyn Monroe, Tony Randall enjoys a happy moment with Monroe during her rehearsal scene for this musical remake of Twentieth Century Fox’s 1937 On the Avenue. Most everyone was displeased with the script, even though Arthur Miller re-wrote much of it to beef up Marilyn’s character, but Monroe enjoyed her co-star and having George Cukor direct.
