[Los Angeles: Warner Brothers, 1928]. Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.) black-and-white glossy silver gelatin sepia-toned photo. Creases at each corner, and a tiny chip at lower left corner, very good+.

Long thought to be a lost film, a print of The Crimson City was discovered in 2008. Myrna Loy’s co-star was Anna May Wong. Photo is coded C-70. Original typed blurb on verso describes Loy as having an exotic personality (though born in Montana and raised in Venice, CA, and of Welsh and Scottish ancestry), and because of this she is perfectly cast in this Warner Brothers’ epic story set on the Chinese coast. There is also an N.E.A. date stamp of May 14, 1928.
