Lana Turner as Cora and John Garfield as Frank in a sexually charged moment as the plot thickens in her scheme to rid herself of her husband. It took some 12 years for any script writer to come up with a scenario which the Breen office would even consider based on James M. Cain’s murder drama. The objectionable parts of the story were subtly woven into the context under the noir genre and MGM was finally able to present an acceptable script, but the censors kept watch each day and much material was censored, refilmed and cut.

The title of the original printed blurb on the verso is The Wages of Sin. Still is coded 1355-18.
