PUSHOVER (1954) Set of 10 photos
Sold
[Hollywood]: Columbia Pictures, [1954]. Set of ten (10) vintage original black-and-white print still photos, mostly 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.), two with photographer stamps (Robert Coburn and Van Pelt) and two with mimeographed text on verso (with pieces of text on a third photo). Overall, near fine.
Silver, Ward. Ursini, Porfiro, p. 238: “Pushover resonates back to Double Indemnity; it involves murder for money and a cool, beautiful blonde who seduces a man into betraying his profession and his colleagues.”
This was Kim Novak’s first starring movie role, and Columbia pulled out all the stops with a large group of seductive photos. In this set, nine of the photos are Novak portraits, and one shows her with male lead Fred McMurray.
