Saul Bass designed the poster for this Otto Preminger film, with its iconic image of a woman’s face with a huge tear dripping down from her left eye.

Bass was a purist and created, in limited editions, special silkscreens which represented the purest versions of his poster art. He originally had a small number of these printed in the 1960s, then had this second printing done in the mid-1980s.
