WAR OF THE WORLDS, THE (1953; 1965 re-release) One sheet poster

[Los Angeles]: Paramount Pictures, [1965]. Vintage original 41 x 27″ (104 x 69 cm.) one sheet poster. On archival linen, there has been routine conservation to address wear in blank margins and slight touch-up along fold lines, overall near fine.

Normally, posters for re-releases of movies do not command great collector interest, but this poster — with its dramatic and really colorful depiction of the Martian spaceships and death rays — has imagery far superior to that of the 1953 one sheet poster and, for some reason, this poster is actually scarcer than the earlier one.
