ANITA EKBERG (ca. 1956) Oversize portrait by Peter Basch

$300.00

[New York, Peter Basch, Circa 1956]. Vintage original 11 x 14″ (28 x 35 cm.) black-and-white double weight glossy silver gelatin print still photo. There are creases at top left and right corners, an inner crease in the sky above her head and creasing in the blank white margin at the bottom of the photo, and there is some waviness to the print. Very good-.

Beautiful and sexy oversized image of the Swedish-born star who began her career in Hollywood films in 1953. Popular in America, she became iconic in 1960 for her work in Federico Fellini’s LA DOLCE VITA.

She was a favorite photographic subject for Peter Basch, who would do a number of sittings with her during the mid-1950s. His “Peter Basch, New York” ink stamp is present twice on the verso.
