Gloria Marie Steinem (b. 1934) is an American journalist, feminist and social activist who became a prominent figure in the women’s liberation movement of the 1960s and 70s. Steinem’s early life, living with a single mother who faced hostility for working, shaped her views on women in society. She studied government at Smith College, graduating magna cum laude in 1956. After college she spent two years in India on a scholarship, participating in nonviolent protests. (Wikipedia)

Images are from her most prolific period, some are from the infamous July 13, 1972, Democratic National Convention in Miami Beach, Florida.
