[Los Angeles: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1928]. Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.) black-and-white glossy silver gelatin photo. Fine.

Director King Vidor’s pet project, MGM allowed him to delve into films which were considered unusual at the time because his earlier successes had earned so much prestige — and money. Some of those projects were not financial successes but this, his first sound film and one of the first all-Black cast sound musicals, was a success.
