Follies girl Hazel Brooks, who would become a film noir femme fatale and marry MGM scenic designer Cedric Gibbons, was prominent in several of the extravagant musical numbers directed by Vincente Minnelli for the Arthur Freed-produced Ziegfeld Follies. Mostly filmed in 1944 but not released until 1946, by which time Brooks had been cast in such noir thrillers as Body and Soul.
