Gone to Earth. 1950, 1952. [London, Los Angeles]: 1950-1952. Collection of 24 vintage original primarily 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm) black-and-white US and UK-release photos, overall near fine.

Three photos are from the 1950 UK release under the correct original title Gone to Earth and have mimeographed text and production company stamps on verso. The rest are from the 1952 RKO release in the US, of which eight have text attached on verso. Many have “12 MAY 1952” stamped on verso. A few use the working title of Gypsy Blood.

While initially panned and butchered for its US release, Gone to Earth is now celebrated by cinephiles and historians as an overlooked visual masterpiece. The film is noted for its breathtaking, painterly Technicolor and its dark, pagan fairy-tale atmosphere. (Wikipedia)
