Los Angeles/New York, 1967-1974. Set of four vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm) and 7 x 9″ (18 x 23 cm) black-and-white photos. Photo agency stickers on verso, one with affixed text on back, another date stamped in bottom margin, overall fine.
Moms Mabley was a legendary African American comedian. She was a veteran of the “Chitlin’ Circuit” of Black vaudeville. Later in life, she made a number of appearances on television and cut some successful comedy albums.
Photos include Mabley in a 1967 ABC television special; appearing in 1972 on The Mike Douglas Show; and two from the 1974 film Amazing Grace, with United Artists copyright text at bottom.
