VANESSA REDGRAVE FAMOUS POSE | BLOW-UP (1967) Photo

$150.00

London: Carlo Ponti / Premier Productions [Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer], 1967. Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm) black-and-white glossy photo. With 1967 USA  copyright info at bottom white margin, fine.

Vanessa is seen in her modest topless pose for this groundbreaking film set in the 1960s mod culture of swinging London, in which a mystery evolves.

As a way of bypassing the Production Code, MGM created Premier Productions, a dummy company which had no agreement or affiliation with the Production Code and, therefore, did not have to adhere to its standards. MGM did not have to cut the full-frontal nudity or other sexually explicit scenes and maintained all rights to the film. When the film opened to rave reviews and excellent box office numbers, this was considered the final blow to the Production Code’s credibility and was replaced with a ratings system less than two years later. Because the film did not open with a studio logo, the version shown on Turner Classic Movies has a Warner Bros. logo at the start, it being the current owner of the film.

Photo coded BU-3.
