Vintage original 11 x 14″ (28 x 36 cm.) title lobby card, USA. Louise Beavers, Edward Thompson, Laurence Criner, dir: William Nolte; Million Dollar Productions. Very rare piece of late 30s African American film paper, Star Beavers had recently made an enormous impression with her towering performance as co-lead with Claudette Colbert in the 1935 John Stahl film, Imitation of Life.

This was Beavers’ first appearance in an entirely Black cast film, a story about a widowed mother of two sons who moves them and her to Harlem from a small Southern town, in the hope of finding a better life for her kids, only to encounter all the problems of living in a large Northern ghetto.

One marginal chip, and one small marginal tear in blank middle left margin, a few small pinholes, NEAR FINE.
