Herbert Jeffrey (also known as Herb Jeffries) appeared in four African American Western films in the 1930s, of which this was the second in this series of self-described “all-Negro Westerns”. Actor Spencer Williams (who would soon direct a number of Black-cast films in the post-WWII era) co-starred.
