Sir Cecil Beaton (1904–1980) was a legendary British photographer, diarist and three-time Academy Award-winning designer. Renowned for his theatrical and glamorous aesthetic, he defined 20th-century fashion and celebrity portraiture through his extensive work with Vogue and Vanity Fair magazines. Group includes: a beautiful self-portrait with date stamp from 1951, used to publish a book of his works; working with Alexander Korda in London 1947 on the film An Ideal Husband; a portrait for and working with Arthur Freed on Gigi in 1958; at home in the early-1960s; working on the costume hats used in the film version of My Fair Lady in 1964; and working at the Met in New York in 1966.
