JOAN BENNETT (ca. 1938) Oversize portrait
Vintage original 13 x 10″ (33 x 26 cm.) double weight sepia-tinted matte textured paper print still photo, USA. Exquisite portrait of the blonde Bennett during the period in which she appeared in such films as Vogues of 1938, I Met My Love Again and Artists and Models Abroad.
Born to a theatrical family, she and older sister Constance were favorites of 1930s movie-going audiences. Joan proved to have the most prolific and longest lasting career. This she achieved with a constantly evolving and adaptive nature — a blonde ingénue and leading lady of the 1930s (starting in 1928), she became a brunette lead and femme fatale of the 1930s, a mother in the 1950s and 60s, and a matron of TV movies and series such as Dark Shadows.
The finest in classic Hollywood portraiture. Slight creases at top and bottom left corners. NEAR FINE.
