$350.00

[Los Angeles: Paramount Pictures, 1939] Vintage original 8 x 10″ (20 x 25 cm.) black-and-white single weight glossy silver gelatin photo. Minor creases at bottom right and left corners, near fine.

In this stellar portrait of one of Hollywood’s most versatile classic era stars, elegant Barbara Stanwyck is highlighted with a stunning jeweled necklace. In Hollywood’s spectacular year of 1939, Stanwyck appeared in Cecil B. DeMille’s epic Union Pacific and was in production of Remember the Night, the Christmas holiday story from Preston Sturges and Mitchell Leisen. Finished and copyrighted in the summer of 1939, the film was held for release with the glut of top (now classic) films bombarding theatres in late 1939.

The extensive attached paper verso on the reverse is a full biography of Stanwyck, which even mentions her recent marriage to Robert Taylor. Paramount copyright at bottom white margin. Photo is coded P2228-201.
