Judy Garland & Gay Pride

The ribbon cutting ceremony, hosted by West Hollywood ‘s Mayor and Chamber of Commerce acknowledges Garland’s legacy and support this Iconic star of film, stage, radio, television and recordings had on the birth and evolution of the LGBTQ+ community.

Walterfilm’s Woolsey Ackerman will curate a historic display of original costumes, memorabilia and ephemera at the event and share information on a panel made up of Garland family members, perfume creator Vince Spinatto, and co-star Margaret O’Brien.

Garland appealed to all people.  Most come to her when they first meet her as Dorothy in THE WIZARD OF OZ. She enjoyed one of the most prolific careers in show business, and though she suffered some of the difficulties of stardom, her talent, pathos, vulnerability and exuberant upbeat attitude inspired people.

Her films and show biz achievements are amongst the classics of history and her memorabilia remains at the top of collectors wish lists.
