DEATHTRAP (1981) Theatre poster

[New York]: Alfred de Liagre, [1081]. Vintage original window card poster, 22 x 14″ (56 x 36 cm.). Small label attached at extreme top left and a few small spots, VERY GOOD.

Ira Levin’s play DEATHTRAP was an enormously popular mystery thriller with a very long run on Broadway.

This poster is from 1981, when Farley Granger (a gay man in real life) stepped in to the lead role of playwright Sidney Bruehl. The very intricate plot revolves around Bruehl’s relation with his handsome younger assistant, whom he disparages for alleged feyness (but with whom he may well be having a relationship behind his wife’s back).
